Google has started rolling out a new Android Auto 15.3 beta update ahead of the stable release. The rollout is exclusive to beta testers, but there’s a way to side-load the APK file before the stable build is released.
Google is limiting the Android Auto 15.3 update to beta testers. That has always been the case with new updates as sometimes, issues are detected. With the initial release limited to a few users, Google can resolve these problems more quickly, as only a small group is affected. However, the latest build could be for bug fixes, as the previous build introduced a few bugs.

Google has yet to release a stable Android Auto 15.2 update. We doubt whether they will go ahead with the release, since bugs were reported after the release. Perhaps the new build is to address these problems, optimize performance, and probably introduce new features.
Meanwhile, the update is rolling out with a version number V15.3.653804 and weighs about 17MB. As always, Google did not release a changelog. We recommend installing the build, as the company has been working on a few additions. Additionally, it might resolve the Music Player widget issue reported after the last release.
About new features, Google is working on replacing traditional assistants with Gemini. The AI assistant has been trained to perform various tasks, helping users stay focused while driving. Plans are underway to introduce Material 3 Expressive Design to Android Auto. Testing is still ongoing with the tech company testing different colours.
While these features will come with future updates, the latest build brings bug fixes and optimization. Pixel 10 series phone users have been having difficulties connecting to Android Auto. Google already released a new Android 16-based update to the device while delivering another one a couple of days ago. We understand these updates have probably resolved the issue, but expect Android Auto 15.3 to bring additional optimization.
